Skating in the abandonad pools of California
(pic from socalskateparks)
Loads of the abandoned (foreclosed) houses in California have pools. And what better way to use them than skate in them! It is a pretty easy concept, find the pool, clean it and skate! Peeps from all over the world are heading towards California for the fun. The NY times has an article and slide show. Click the pic....

What Champagne to drink

We know, recession, don't spend too much money blahblah. BUT..... You have to start the new year the best way possible and a good bottle of Champagne is an absolute must. You will look like a total idiot if you serve some cheap knock off. We did some research to help. We made a selection of some of the best Champagne houses. Please be careful what you choose. For example: Cristal (Louis Roederer) is exclusive for pimps, gangsters, (rap)music producers and rappers!
Moët et Chandon, Louis Roederer, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Taittinger, Piper Heidsieck, Mumm, Perrier Jouët, Heidsieck Monopole

Diesel, the farm.

I wrote about Diesel before (when they bought Victor & Rolf). In my opinion it's one of the coolest, most innovative brands around. What a lot of people don't know is that Diesel has it's own farm! Located in the Italian Veneto region, they produce wine, oil and grappa. Diesel clothing is not the cheapest kid in town and the products from the farm are no exception! Sold only by a few selected retailers in the US and the U.K. Prices for a bottle go up to $300. Have a look at the Diesel farm.

Stupid (?) .com names

The article about Bopaboo got me thinking about stupid(?) website names. Speak them out loud and it sounds you have a serious throat problem! I came across an article, written (august 2007) by Michelle Quinn, on the LA Times site with the title "Dot-com names get dottier". In this article were some pretty nice examples of no-meaning names. Here we go:
Abazab (dead), Eefoof (dead), Wakoopa, Frengo, Ooma, Vudu, Promptu, Qumana, Qoosa (dead), Tagtooga, Tendango, Boorah, Lala, Itzbig, Picaboo, Xobni, Meebo, Squidoo, Imeem, Imbee, Yoomba, Oodle, Renkoo, Kaboodle, Vumu (dead), Xoopit....
The big question is
(yes, dottier.com is registered)

On the 7th day of the riots a Greek policeman was set on fire

Pic from Dutch news site spitsnieuws.nl
Students from Greece are pissed! Riots are sparked (ahum) by the shooting of a teenager by police last week, low wages, unemployment etc. More on Reuters.

A new way of selling music?
Bopaboo (whats in a name...) launched a site that has a new way of looking at selling your music. Its basically pretty simple. When you buy a cd, it is yours. You payed the music company, the artist etc. And if you like you can obviously also sell your cd.... So, why not do this digital instead of the old way (shipping by mail). So far so good. But how do you/does Bopaboo guarantee you dont sell it over and over again? And, no DRM-wrapped music is allowed so you cant sell if you are an ITunes user... CNET News had a little Q and A with the owner of the site, Alex Meshkin.

Yes i can! Bitch Slapped!

Electric car pwnds! Ferrari and Porsche. I know, old stuff, but this (and the nearby future) is getting cooler by the minute. German Porsche tuner RUF (what a wicked! name by the way) is a tuner with a reputation. According to RUF every factory Porsche needs more BHP.... But even they are exploring the green option. The only thing thats bugging me is the sound of an electric car..... The new-business tip of the day! For all you job-lost bankers etc. hitting the F5 button all day long out there.....Start a engine-sound-website-start-up-company! In the meantime have fun with the vid.

Scream! you chicken!

Playboys ceo Christie Hefner is leaving the company. Big deal, some would say, and i agree. Playboy....who buys that magazine? Playboy was smoking a pipe and walking around in a robe while the internet exploded with free pron. Sure, everybody is reading the magazine for its in-depth articles. The only way P-boy can get some media attention nowadays is getting a semi-celebrity to take her clothes of.... Anyway, the company is promising a new web site in q1 2009. Lets hope this icon of sex(?) can find its "mojo" back and be as groundbreaking as they were in the 50s. Maybe Hugh Hefner should contact the cyronics company Alcor. This way he can make a comeback in, lets say, 100 years. In the meantime, instead of buying a p-boy magazine im spending my money on a scrrrrrreaming chicken!
Udate: This is what P-boy came up with, Playboy is launching a mobile soap! From the website "Go behind the scenes with Playboys new mobile reality series, interns. Forget the faxing and filing-think bunnies, babes and budding officeromance! Its Playboy, unscripted".

Where ever you go, go.....

Since the stock markets have imploded, real estate foreclosures are going through the roof and jobs are hard to find we all need to slow down on our spending. Even we had to let go 4 PA’s … Trust me, it sucks to write down my wicked fantasies in my Moleskine myself. And dont get me started about the long walk to the espresso machine. Anyway, Luxury is bad! Big cars…..BAD! Fancy jewelry, BAD! Especially luxury vacations…..BAD! To make sure you understand what we mean by saying luxury is BAD! We have a wicked travel tip. Wicked Styles proudly presents……..North-Korea! (i mean The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, obviously). Guaranteed NO luxury what-so-ever. And the best part is that you will be (by far) the coolest mofo on every party for the next few years! Just think about the look on the face of that dillhole that is always bragging about St. Barts.... The North-Korea website for info and pics. Good luck, have fun and send us a postcard....
